# Privacy policy Last updated: 6 October 2026 ## Who looks after your data **Simple Ink SRL**, the company behind LovePress, is responsible for how we use your personal data. Our address is Strada Consecvenței, Nr. 84, Sector 5, București, România, 051424; VAT number RO45431992. Contact [hi@thelove.press](mailto:hi@thelove.press), or write to that address, for privacy questions and requests. ## What we collect - **Order details:** your name, email, delivery address, title, dedication, revision notes, order status and customer support messages. - **Book content:** uploaded photos, illustrations generated from them, and digital book proofs. People pictured in photos may also have personal data in those files. - **Payment records:** payment references, amount, currency and status. Stripe collects your payment details on its hosted checkout; we do not receive or store your full card number or security code. - **Technical information:** information needed to serve and protect the website, such as IP address, device/browser details, request times and security logs. Our browser storage is described in the [cookie policy](/cookies). You give us most of this data directly. We also receive payment updates from Stripe and production or delivery updates from Peecho and its partners. A purchaser may provide someone else’s photos or a gift recipient’s name and address. ## Why we use it | Purpose | Legal basis | | --- | --- | | Take your order, create illustrations, show your proof, print, ship and provide order support | Performance of our contract with you | | Deliver a gift and process other people’s ordinary photos for a private book | Our legitimate interest in fulfilling the purchaser’s order, balanced against the people’s privacy | | Keep tax and accounting records and respond to legally required requests | Legal obligation | | Protect the service, prevent fraud, investigate errors and handle claims | Legitimate interests in security, reliable operation and resolving disputes | We need the order, photo and address details to make and deliver your book. If essential information is missing, we cannot complete it. Do not upload identity documents, sensitive medical information, intimate images or material that other people reasonably expect to remain confidential. The person ordering should have the right to share the material and any necessary permission. Please share this notice with people whose photos or delivery details you give us. For photos of children, involve their parent or guardian. ## Who helps us make your book We give providers the information needed for their part of the order: - **Stripe:** hosted checkout, payment processing, fraud prevention and payment records. Stripe also handles some information for its own payment and compliance purposes. See [Stripe’s privacy policy](https://stripe.com/privacy). - **OpenAI:** the selected photos and instructions used to generate illustrations. Our current preview website also uses OpenAI Sites. See [OpenAI’s API data controls](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/your-data). - **Cloudflare:** domain/security services and the infrastructure used for order data and private book files. See [Cloudflare’s privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/). - **GitHub Actions:** the private production worker that processes your book. It temporarily accesses the files and order information needed for that job. See [GitHub’s privacy statement](https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement). - **Peecho, its printers and carriers:** your approved print file and the details needed to produce and deliver it. See [Peecho’s privacy policy](https://www.peecho.com/privacy-policy). Authorised LovePress staff may view book content to handle a revision, quality issue or support request. We may share relevant records with professional advisers or authorities where necessary for legal obligations or claims. Your order files are private, and access to your order page uses a private link. Anyone who has that link may be able to open your photos and proof, so please keep it safe. We do not sell your photos or use them as public examples or advertising without asking you separately. Ordering does not sign you up to marketing emails. ## AI and international processing AI turns your photos into illustrations; it does not mean that the result will reproduce every detail. We use your approval to decide which book to print. If an automated error prevents your order from progressing, contact us for a person to review it. Our providers may process information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Their published data-processing terms include mechanisms such as European Commission standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, recognised adequacy arrangements. You can ask us for the safeguards relevant to your order. We do not promise that all processing takes place in the EU or that provider retention is zero. ## How long we keep it We keep information for the purpose it was collected, rather than indefinitely: - **Unpaid, inactive drafts:** up to 30 days after the last activity. - **Original photos, generated illustrations and superseded proofs:** while the order is active, then for up to 90 days after delivery or cancellation to handle immediate support and corrections. - **Approved print file, approval record and essential order/support records:** up to two years after delivery or closure for replacements, conformity claims and disputes. You can ask for the print file to be deleted earlier; that may prevent an identical reprint, but does not remove your consumer rights. - **Invoices and legally required accounting records:** for the required statutory period, normally five years under Romanian accounting law, calculated from 1 July of the following financial year. We may keep only the records necessary for an ongoing dispute or another legal requirement for longer. Records held by a provider acting for its own legal purposes follow its own retention rules; payment records and provider safety logs are not necessarily deleted when we delete your book files. ## Your choices and rights Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, erase or receive a portable copy of your data, restrict processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. If we rely on consent for a future optional use, you can withdraw it. We may need to verify that a request comes from the right person. Contact us by email or post. We normally respond within one month; if a legally permitted extension is needed, we explain it within that month. A request to remove information still needed for an unfinished order may mean we need to cancel it. We will explain that before proceeding. You may complain to Romania’s [ANSPDCP](https://www.dataprotection.ro/) or the data protection authority where you live or work. You do not have to contact us first to use that right. ## Changes We update this policy when our services or data practices change. The date above shows the latest version. We tell you about material changes affecting an active order where required.
